Always Cold Wash
Wash at 30°C or below. Hot water causes permanent shrinkage in both cotton and linen fibres.
Mild Detergent Only
Use a gentle, pH-neutral liquid detergent. Never use bleach or fabric softener — both damage natural fibres over time.
Air Dry Only
Never tumble dry. Hang on a wide hanger or lay flat. Remove from the machine promptly and reshape while still damp.
Wash Inside Out
Always turn your garment inside out before washing. This protects the outer surface from friction, pilling, and colour fading.

Care Instructions

Gentle Cycle Only
Use the delicate setting on your machine. Avoid mixing with heavy items like denim or towels — give the shirt room to move freely.
Iron While Slightly Damp
Medium-high heat with steam or a light spray of water. Always iron on the reverse side for darker colours to prevent shine.
Skip the Softener
Linen softens naturally with every wash — fabric softener only coats the fibres and reduces its natural absorbency.
Button Up Before Washing
Keeps the shirt's structure and collar shape intact through the wash cycle. Smooth out creases by hand while still damp.

Do & Don't

Do

  • Wash similar colours together
  • Remove from machine immediately after cycle
  • Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place
  • Treat stains immediately with cold water
  • Embrace the natural crease — it's part of linen's character

Don't

  • Don't tumble dry — high heat shrinks and damages the fibre
  • Don't wring or twist the fabric
  • Don't dry in prolonged direct sunlight
  • Don't store in plastic — linen needs to breathe
  • Don't dry clean unless specifically required

Good to know: Linen gets softer, more comfortable, and more beautiful with every wash. Unlike most fabrics that degrade over time, a well-cared-for linen shirt will actually improve. Your shirt at wash number 50 will feel better than it did on day one.

Care Instructions

Machine Wash — Cold
Wash at 30°C or below on a normal cycle. Cold water prevents shrinkage, preserves colour, and keeps cotton fibres strong.
Low Heat Iron (If Needed)
Iron on low-to-medium heat. Cotton creases are minimal if you reshape while damp. Iron on the reverse side for darker colours.
No Tumble Dry
High heat is the primary cause of cotton shrinkage, fading, and pilling. Lay flat on a clean towel or hang on a wide hanger instead.
Use Wide Hangers
Use wide hangers to distribute weight evenly. Always insert hangers from the bottom — never stretch the neckline or shoulders.

Do & Don't

Do

  • Wash only when needed — air between wears
  • Separate whites, lights, and darks
  • Treat stains immediately — cotton absorbs quickly
  • Fold and store flat for best shape retention
  • Stretch gently at the hem — not the neckline — to restore shape

Don't

  • Don't wash in hot water — shrinkage is irreversible
  • Don't overload the washing machine
  • Don't use bleach — it weakens natural cotton fibres
  • Don't use fabric softener — it reduces breathability
  • Don't leave wet in the machine — causes musty odour

Good to know: Cotton may shrink 3–5% in the first wash — this is natural and expected. We account for this in our sizing. After the initial wash, the garment stabilises and won't shrink further. The first wash also softens the fabric to its final hand feel.

Less, done right, is always more.
